The Johnson Controls Building© Management System (BMS) is a computer-based control system donated and installed by Johnson Controls© to demonstrate the monitoring and controlling of mechanical and electrical equipment in both commercial and industrial buildings. The system includes measurement sensors and controllers for lighting, fans, valves, dampers, and fire systems.
H323’s BMS systems more specifically demonstrate the operation of cooling and heating equipment, the management of airflow rates and distributions, and the monitoring of indoor environments. The BMS can also monitor and control the CO2 concentration in the space by changing the outdoor ventilation rates. This demonstration system mimics full-scale BMS installations that are responsible for controlling approximately 70% of energy consumption in their respective buildings.
