Field Trips

We are able to accommodate groups with as many as 110 guests per day. If your group has more than the maximum number of attendees, we can schedule field trips over multiple days, or we visit your school for an in-person visit / facilitate a virtual school program. With a wide variety of exhibitions and educational topics for 5th grade and older, the Museum of History and Holocaust Education is an excellent choice for your next group trip. 

Our tours are free with a reservation. All school trips are led by museum educators and conform to the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Please note that for a full guided group tour, we require a minimum of fifteen participants.

Field Trip Reservations

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE) welcomes visitors of all ages. However, some of the content, particularly exhibitions on the Holocaust, may not be suitable for children under the age of 10 (fifth grade). 
  • Any group or organization. The MHHE has given tours to school groups, community organizations, religious groups, scout groups, senior groups, and more.

  • For school groups of over 15 students, plan on being at the museum for just over 2 hours. Even with interactive discussions and activities, after this length of time, some students may lose concentration.

    Other groups may schedule different length tours depending on the exhibits they wish to see and how long they have to spend at the MHHE.

  • The museum has a variety of on site exhibits focusing on World War II and the Holocaust. 
  • The MHHE has a movie theatre that shows different movies including: "The Short Life of Anne Frank," "Path to Nazi Genocide" and "Women in World War II." 
  • Tours are given by museum educators and docents who are highly trained and experienced with a wide range of audiences. Please contact Education Manager, Andrea Miskewicz, for questions and more information about tours. 

  • During the school-year (August - May) school-groups of over 15 may schedule a field trip in the morning. Most of these field trips begin between 9:00-10:00 a.m.

    If you have a small group, we can offer you our afternoon tour time which typically begins around 1:00 p.m.

  • At the East Entrance of the KSU Center (3333 Busbee Drive, 肉肉传媒, GA, 30144).
  • There is ample free parking around both sides of the KSU Center.
  • Unfortunately, our museum does not have space for groups to eat lunch. We can offer the Commons (KSU's dining hall on campus). You may contact them directly for availability and pricing. The Varsity Jr. is also a short bus drive from the museum and a popular choice with groups. Alternatively, 肉肉传媒 Mountain National Battlefield Park has free picnic space nearby.
  • Absolutely. All of the MHHE鈥檚 galleries, exhibits and facilities are on the ground level and accessible.
  • Nothing. It is entirely free.
  • During the school-year, we often book several weeks, or even months, in advance. As soon as you have a potential date for your group, please fill out a reservation form.

Summer Camp

MHHE education team will host summer programming for rising 1st through 5th graders in June and July 2025! Registration Opens in January 2025!

Homeschool Education

The Museum of History and Holocaust Education invites you to our free Homeschool Days. Experience special guest speakers, hands-on activities, educator-led tours, and age-appropriate films. Homeschool Days are suitable for students ages 9 and up, and RSVPs are required. Please contact K-12 Education Coordinator, Maddie Davis with any questions.

  • Networking opportunities with scholars, museum professionals and other educators
  • Historical context for Holocaust education
  • Hands-on lessons
  • Museum and historic Temple tours
  • Research-based strategies for teaching difficult history
  • Classroom materials
