• ScholarshipUniverse is a one-stop-shop search tool used to locate and apply for thousands of scholarship opportunities. You can login to ScholarshipUniverse with your NetID and password at .

  • ScholarshipUniverse reviews each scholarship before being listed, so you can apply worry-free. Each scholarship is vetted by a third party to ensure that it is legitimate and that the requirements are accurate, saving you time to review countless scholarship websites.

Nearly every department on campus uses this platform to post their scholarship opportunities. If you encounter any inconsistencies or concerns about a scholarship you were matched to, you can report it through the feedback option.

  • There are several types of scholarships available! You can find scholarships based on your major, minor, college, department, academic merits, financial need, hobbies, interests, affiliations and more. Scholarships can come from two different sources: University scholarships are internal and are offered by various KSU departments across campus; External scholarships are available by sources outside of ÈâÈ⴫ý. These can be offered from local, state or national organizations. Every scholarship posted in ScholarshipUniverse comes from a reliable source.
  • You first need to complete your student profile by answering several questions that are designed to match you with scholarships for which you are eligible.

After you log into Scholarship Universe for the first time, you will need to complete your student profile by answering several questions. These questions are designed to match you with scholarships for which you are eligible.

We recommend answering all profile questions before reviewing your scholarship matches. While you aren’t required to answer every question, the more questions you answer, the more scholarships you may be matched with.

If you have new profile questions to answer, you will see a gray bar on your Dashboard. You can also view the questions you have already answered and update them by clicking on the Questions tab.

  • We recommend logging in to ScholarshipUniverse at least once a week to stay up to date on any new, recently posted scholarships so you can apply before their deadline. Typically, late fall through mid-spring is the peak of scholarship application season.
  • Yes! You can click on the Scholarships tab and then select the Sort/Filter option on the top right corner. You can sort by internal KSU Scholarships, search by name or filter by specific College/Department.
  • Yes! Scholarship dollars are awarded to ÈâÈ⴫ý students every year. Award amounts vary and can typically be combined with other merit scholarships and financial aid awards.

However, a student may not receive aid that exceeds their cost of attendance. If a student is offered aid that exceeds their cost of attendance, they will be considered over-awarded, and aid may be appropriately adjusted, according to federal rules.

  • Some KSU scholarships require two (2) Letters of Recommendation. Please carefully read through all requirements for each scholarship to which you are applying. You can request two (2) Letters of Recommendation directly through ScholarshipUniverse.

Please be sure to ask your recommender before completing your application and let them know to expect an email from ScholarshipUniverse with instructions on how to upload your recommendation letter.

  • Any outstanding tasks that you are required to complete, such as thank you letters or award acceptance, can be done directly from your ScholarshipUniverse profile under the Action Required section of your Dashboard.

Not sure where to start with writing a thank you letter? Check out the helpful tips in the award email you received to help you in writing a more meaningful letter to your donor.

Follow the prompts on your Dashboard to submit your thank you letter or accept your award by the deadline posted.

  • You can view and edit your Communication preferences by clicking on your name in the upper right-hand corner and clicking on Profile.
  • For any technical difficulties, please contact the ScholarshipUniverse Support Team by submitting Feedback. Please be specific in describing your situation and provide as much detail as possible, including error codes if applicable, so the team can work quickly to resolve the issue.

Once your feedback is submitted, you may be asked to provide screenshots and other helpful information to assist the ScholarshipUniverse Support Team in providing you the best support possible.

  • If a scholarship is renewable, it will be noted in the criteria. Most scholarships require you to reapply each year.
  • Scholarships are awarded for educational expenses such as tuition, fees, housing, books, supplies and transportation. All funds will be posted to your student account by the Bursar’s Office. If you have a credit balance, the Bursar will issue your refund based on your preferences.
  • All financial aid funds are released to the Bursar just before the final payment deadline for each semester. Funds are applied to your charges in the Bursar’s Office — half of the funds applied to the fall semester and half to the spring semester. Should you have any excess funds after all charges are paid, you will be refunded by the Bursar, based on your refund preferences selected with BankMobile.
  • We recommend you complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid at fafsa.gov) to see if you qualify for any federal grant funding. You should also actively search and apply for scholarships through ScholarshipUniverse!
  • It depends! If you are a current high school student, you should be actively applying during your junior and senior years. If you are already a ÈâÈ⴫ý student, be sure to check throughout the year, but especially from October 1 to March 1.
