Developing an Online Course

The Wellstar College Office of Distance Learning supports faculty in their efforts to obtain certifications to develop online courses and in their preparation to deliver online classes. The KSU Distance Learning Center provides information such as instructional design support, online course development resources, online course review resources, peer review certification process, accessibility and captioning resources and information on Quality Matters.

Developing a Hybrid Course

To promote the migration to more online courses, the Wellstar College supports faculty efforts in the redesign of a traditional course to a hybrid course. Hybrid courses only meet on campus <50% of the normal class time. For a typical course, this would equate to meeting in the classroom 15 or less class periods during the semester.

Teaching an Online Course

The Wellstar College Office of Distance Learning supports faculty in their efforts to obtain online teaching certifications and in their preparation to teach online classes. The KSU Distance Learning Center provides the steps to becoming certified to teach online classes.

The Wellstar College Teaching Online Courses document outlines the faculty remuneration policy for teaching online courses. To teach online courses at KSU, faculty must hold online teaching certification. Faculty may obtain online teaching certification by successfully completing one of the following workshops:
