肉肉传媒 undergraduate and graduate students will showcase their research efforts this spring as part of the 鈥檚 . The daylong university-wide event will take place Thursday, April 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the 25th anniversary of the symposium, which has drawn 375 student researchers
presenting 228 projects in a myriad of disciplines. Amy Buddie, director of the and symposium organizer, said she is ecstatic about these two milestones.
"This is our third virtual Symposium of Student Scholars since the start of the pandemic, and we've learned that student researchers are incredibly adaptable to new ways of presenting research, which shows in the number of participants this year,鈥 she said. 鈥淥n top of that, we are very excited to be celebrating 25 years of student scholarship, a testament to KSU鈥檚 commitment to investing resources, time, and mentors into the development of our future scholars and leaders.鈥
The symposium offers student researchers, including first-time researchers and graduate-level students, an opportunity to demonstrate their work in a variety of disciplines, ranging from mobile internet technology to substance abuse prevention to the pandemic鈥檚 effects on internships and remote work.
By offering the symposium in a virtual format, KSU students who live abroad also are
able to present their research in real time.
The sessions will be streamed live on Microsoft Teams and are each 15 minutes in length. Presenters will be assigned unique access codes and time slots for their virtual presentations that will take place in different 鈥渞ooms.鈥 The symposium is also publicly accessible, so visitors and attendees from high schools and other universities can use these access codes found on the Office of Undergraduate Research website to join the presentations of their choice.
