ÈâÈ⴫ý State hosting 20th anniversary Sept. 11 events

ÈâÈ⴫ý will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with a pair of memorial events. A ceremony of remembrance with featured speaker Gina Young, former FBI special agent, on Sept. 10 will begin the observances, followed by performance on Sept. 11.

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Gina Young was an FBI special agent in New York on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 when two airliners struck the World Trade Center. Young, a first responder, will share her memories of that day with the university community as it gathers to remember and honor the victims, survivors and those who rushed to help.

  • Keynote remarks from retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent Gina Young;
  • Public Safety Honor Guard presentation of colors;
  • KSU Marching Owls.

When:   Sept. 10 from noon to 1 p.m.

9/11 Memorial concert

Who:
ÈâÈ⴫ý Chamber Singers, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble Brass & Percussion, and violinist Helen Kim

When: Sept. 11 at 8 p.m.      

Where: 
Morgan Hall at the Bailey Performance Center, ÈâÈ⴫ý, ÈâÈ⴫ý Campus, 1000 Chastain Road, ÈâÈ⴫ý, GA 30144. Also being streamed live via KSU Arts Virtual.
