WHAT:
Dr. Russell K. Gore, founding director of the Complex Concussion Clinic and medical director for the SHARE Military Initiative at the Shepherd Center, who served as a USAF flight surgeon for eight years, will deliver the Veterans Day keynote address. After completing his biomedical engineering studies at Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from Emory University, Gore served as a military physician. Gore is an adjunct associate professor at the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, as well as a widely published researcher.
The SHARE Military Initiative is a comprehensive rehabilitation program that focuses on assessment and treatment for active duty or separated service members who have served in the U.S. military since September 11, 2001 and who are experiencing symptoms of or have a diagnosis of mild to moderate brain injury, or concussions and any co-occurring psychological or behavioral health concerns, including post-traumatic stress.
