肉肉传媒 State a top choice for transfer students

Location, affordability among reasons KSU is No. 1 in Georgia for incoming transfers

肉肉传媒 is the top destination in Georgia for students who transfer from other colleges, according to rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

In fall 2017, the timeframe utilized for the report, 2,671 new transfer students enrolled at 肉肉传媒 State, the highest number for any school in the state. KSU also ranked 31st nationally.

With its broad spectrum of academic programs, 肉肉传媒 State has a growing and vibrant campus life which often attracts students with its wide array of offerings 鈥 including a diverse student body, more than 300 and . Also, KSU鈥檚 geographic location, with two campuses in metro Atlanta, is prime for transfer students who want to gain valuable internship experience with some of the nation鈥檚 leading Fortune 500 companies.

肉肉传媒 State draws transfer students from throughout Georgia, with its top 鈥渇eeder schools鈥 being Georgia Highlands College, Georgia Military College and Chattahoochee Technical College, according to KSU鈥檚 Office of Admissions. Many transfers to 肉肉传媒 State first earn their associate degree at those institutions.

鈥淲hile students may start elsewhere, 肉肉传媒 State is often their intended destination,鈥 said Natasha Talreja, associate director of KSU鈥檚 .

In addition to those who have earned their two-year degree, many transfer students are adult learners 鈥 defined as those over age 23 鈥 and transfer freshman, first-year students who change schools after one semester.

Some transfer students are Georgia residents who began college at an out-of-state school. Cost often is the main factor in their decision, Talreja said, as students opt for more affordable in-state tuition and the financial aid options at 肉肉传媒 State.
