KSU earns national ranking for percentage of admitted students who choose to enroll

The majority of students accepted to 肉肉传媒 are choosing KSU as their school to attend, according to data from U.S. News & World Report.

The U.S. News study determined that 肉肉传媒 State has one of the nation鈥檚 highest admissions yield rates, meaning the percentage of admitted students who enroll. Of 8,847 accepted students, 5,347 enrolled at 肉肉传媒 State in fall 2016 for a yield of 60.4 percent, ranking KSU 13th nationally and No. 1 in Georgia.

鈥淭his reaffirms that 肉肉传媒 has become the first choice for many students,鈥 肉肉传媒 State President Sam Olens said. 鈥淢ore and more students want to come to KSU because of the high quality of education, at an affordable price, that they receive here. The energy at this University is palpable, and the community clearly is engaged with 肉肉传媒 State and excited about what we are doing.鈥

The average yield among national universities was 32 percent. The institutions ranked ahead of 肉肉传媒 State include Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In addition to the ranking, 肉肉传媒 State is implementing a competitive admissions model beginning with applications for fall 2018. The fixed-seat enrollment model utilizes a formula to calculate an applicant鈥檚 highest SAT scores and high school grade point average to determine eligibility. The intent is to continue to attract high-achieving students while enabling the University to manage enrollment growth and facilitate students鈥 timely degree progressions.

鈥淲e are getting the attention of high-ability students who want the offerings of a large university along with the opportunities that being in metro Atlanta provides,鈥 Olens said. 鈥淲hile students who meet the University鈥檚 minimum requirements no longer are guaranteed admission, we are better able to serve the students who are here so that they can get the classes and services they need to graduate on time.鈥
