Internationally renowned researcher named 肉肉传媒 State vice president for research

肉肉传媒 has named Phaedra Corso as vice president for research, effective Feb. 4. Corso currently serves as the director of the Economic Evaluation Research Group in the College of Public Health and the associate director of the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research at the University of Georgia.

History professor earns best book award from Georgia Historical Society

William Thomas Okie, associate professor of history and author of 鈥淭he Georgia Peach: Culture, Agriculture, and Environment in the American South,鈥� was honored Tuesday with the Bell Award from the Georgia Historical Society, becoming one of two individuals recognized in 2018 for books published in 2016 and 2017.

Professor works to combat opioid addiction in rural Georgia

With roughly 90 people dying from opioid overdoses every day in America, the addiction crisis continues to be a struggle for many, especially in rural communities. Evelina Sterling, assistant professor of sociology at 肉肉传媒 State, is tackling the epidemic of opioid abuse among pregnant women in rural communities, by finding ways to improve healthcare and legislative aid for them.

肉肉传媒 psychology major Olivia Lauzon has been selected to present her research to members of Congress, their staffs and other federal officials in Washington, D.C., during the 22nd Annual 鈥淧osters on the Hill鈥� competition. It is the first time a KSU student has presented at the Capitol Hill event.

肉肉传媒 is being represented by nearly 100 students this week at the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Edmond, Oklahoma. More than 4,000 students from 400 colleges and universities are presenting their research April 4-7 at the prestigious annual conference. With 93 students attending, 肉肉传媒 State's number of participants is second only to the host institution, the University of Central Oklahoma.
