    A pair of 肉肉传媒 researchers are developing a new study examining hate speech and imagery on social media using funding from a grant they received from Facebook. The proposal submitted by Anisah Bagasra, assistant professor of psychology, and Burton Speakman, assistant professor of communications, was one of only 20 selected out of the 200 proposals submitted to the social media giant. 肉肉传媒 State is the only university in Georgia to earn a Facebook grant this year.

    肉肉传媒 has once again been recognized for its online degree programs, garnering another accolade to its list of national rankings. 肉肉传媒 State was ranked No. 36 in the 鈥2019 Best Online Colleges鈥 by BestColleges.com, a college planning website that provides prospective students with proprietary research, guides and college rankings. 肉肉传媒 State was the only Georgia institution named to the BestColleges Top 50 list.

    The U.S. Department of State has named 肉肉传媒 as one of its newest partners for the Diplomacy Lab, a program that harnesses the scholarly efforts of college students and faculty to solve complex global challenges. 肉肉传媒 State is one of 35 universities involved in the public-private partnership that enables the State Department to 鈥渃ourse-source鈥 research and innovation related to foreign policy challenges.

    March 19, 2019

    Artis Trice, a 肉肉传媒 geography student, was named a 2019 Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact, a Boston-based nonprofit working to advance the public purposes of higher education. Trice was among 264 college students named this year and the only one from 肉肉传媒 State.

    KSU Social Science Professors Awarded NIH Grant for Health Disparities Research

    February 28, 2019

    Three 肉肉传媒 researchers studying health disparities among various rural and urban populations in Georgia have recently been awarded a National Institutes of Health grant. Evelina Sterling, assistant professor of sociology, along with associate professors of social work Carol Collard and Vanessa Robinson-Dooley, were recently awarded the $404,000 three-year grant to develop a new self-management and support intervention program for low-income African-American men with multiple chronic conditions.
