    Cynthia Reed named dean of Bagwell College of Education

    Following a nationwide search, ÈâÈ⴫ý has appointed Cynthia Reed as dean of the Bagwell College of Education, effective August 6. Reed comes to ÈâÈ⴫ý State from Northern Kentucky University, where she has been dean of the College of Education and Human Services since 2014. Reed succeeds Arlinda Eaton, who is retiring June 30 following 10 years as dean of the Bagwell College of Education.

    ÈâÈ⴫ý is being represented by nearly 100 students this week at the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Edmond, Oklahoma. More than 4,000 students from 400 colleges and universities are presenting their research April 4-7 at the prestigious annual conference. With 93 students attending, ÈâÈ⴫ý State's number of participants is second only to the host institution, the University of Central Oklahoma.

    Georgia Schools Superintendent Richard Woods and Cobb County School District Superintendent Chris Ragsdale are among inaugural inductees into the Bagwell College of Education Hall of Fame at ÈâÈ⴫ý. Seven education leaders were honored Thursday at a ceremony establishing the Bagwell College of Education Hall of Fame, recognizing KSU alumni who have made significant contributions in the education field. Along with Woods and Ragsdale, the first Hall of Fame class includes Tanya Curren, Susan Padgett-Harrison, Raquel Rimpola, Shea Thomas and Dean Yoder.
