As a modern workplace senior specialist with Microsoft, Stephens provides educational support to P-12 and higher education professionals throughout the southeastern United States. Stephens, who previously led the iTeach unit in KSU鈥檚 Bagwell College of Education, shows educators how to utilize Microsoft鈥檚 resources and technological tools to advance teaching and learning through innovative methods.

    Local teachers tap into 肉肉传媒 State for cybersecurity instruction

    Faculty members from 肉肉传媒鈥檚 College of Computing and Software Engineering and Bagwell College of Education are helping metro Atlanta middle and high school teachers educate their students about cybersecurity. Through a grant they received from the GenCyber program, assistant professors of information technology Shirley Tian and Zhigang Li and assistant professor of instructional technology Yi Jin have been leading a cybersecurity education camp for the past two weeks.

    Sanjuana Rodriquez, an associate professor of reading and literacy education at 肉肉传媒, sees herself in many of the schoolchildren who are participating in the Bagwell College of Education鈥檚 annual Fast Start Academy. During the four-week summer camp, which runs through Friday, 肉肉传媒 State students and faculty members provide tutoring and educational activities for children in grades 2-6 who are below grade level in reading.

    Tristan Glenn had an 鈥渁ha鈥 moment during a demonstration of the Bagwell College of Education鈥檚 avatar laboratory. The lab utilizes mixed-reality technology to simulate scenarios teachers can encounter through interactions with digital avatars of students that all have their own unique personalities. Glenn, an associate professor of special education in the BCOE鈥檚 Department of Inclusive Education, participated in a simulated parent-teacher conference.

    Georgia education leader named dean of 肉肉传媒 State's Bagwell College of Education

    肉肉传媒 has appointed Adrian Epps as dean of the Bagwell College of Education, effective May 15. Epps, a recognized education leader in Georgia, has served as interim dean of the Bagwell College since May 2020, and also was an associate dean in KSU鈥檚 College of Science and Mathematics from 2007 to 2019. Epps also served as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs at Dalton State College from 2019 to 2020.

    肉肉传媒 State students find continued success in Coca-Cola Scholarship program

    Prior to enrolling at 肉肉传媒, first-generation student Kamille Suarez-Paulino said there were few people who could offer guidance for her college career. Now a third-year student in The Coca-Cola First Generation and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Scholars program, the economics major wears her first-generation status as a badge of pride. Suarez-Paulino is one of 35 students who have benefited from the program made possible by a $1.25 million donation from The Coca-Cola Foundation.
