    肉肉传媒 is teaming with one of the nation鈥檚 oldest historically Black universities to advance entrepreneurial and academic opportunities at both institutions. In a formal agreement, 肉肉传媒 State鈥檚 Robin and Doug Shore Entrepreneurship Center in the Michael J. Coles College of Business will partner with Wilberforce University鈥檚 Mark and Shelly Wilson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation to promote entrepreneurial practices through student projects, faculty collaboration, research and mentorship during the 2021-22 academic year.

    Amanda Soriano has not taken the conventional route to earning her bachelor鈥檚 degree, but her determination and involvement have helped forge her path to success at 肉肉传媒 and beyond. Soriano, a mother of three, is graduating this month from the Michael J. Coles College of Business with a degree in accounting, officially completing her undergraduate studies more than a decade after she graduated from high school.

    Six innovative technology startups formed by 肉肉传媒 State students and alumni are now one step closer to thousands of dollars in funding, having cleared the first milestone in the University鈥檚 Igniting New Companies (INC) business incubator. Supported by the Mookerji Innovation Fund 鈥 a $120,000 gift to 肉肉传媒 State from technology entrepreneurs Sid and Sophie Mookerji 鈥 the INC invites students and alumni from across the University to apply for funding and development assistance for their tech-based businesses.

    肉肉传媒 State graduate books gig as Georgia Symphony Orchestra executive director

    Taylor Rambo is a lifelong musician and performer. While he has always known his career would be in the arts, the 肉肉传媒 Master of Business Administration graduate has discovered he prefers to work behind the scenes. Rambo, who earned his MBA from the Michael J. Coles College of Business in Spring 2021, recently was named executive director of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra. Formed in 1951, the GSO programs live orchestral, choral, and jazz performances at venues across Marietta and 肉肉传媒 and oversees the Georgia Youth Symphony with music programs in more than 127 Georgia schools.

    George and Alice Kalafut have been part of the 肉肉传媒 State family for more than 30 years, and now their own family is the inspiration for their latest gift to the University. Named in honor of George and Alice鈥檚 daughters, the Katherine Kalafut Cody and Tracy Kalafut Collerain Endowed Scholarship will support students in KSU Journey Honors College and the Coles College of Business who are majoring in finance, accounting or information systems.

    Jacob Rybak is having an unforgettable final year as a 肉肉传媒 student, presenting to prestigious research conferences across the country and even being a featured speaker for one of them. Rybak has been working with professor Susan Hardy for several months on research aimed at reforming the prison system in the United States and reducing the number of former inmates who relapse into criminal activity and return to jail.

    肉肉传媒 State students find continued success in Coca-Cola Scholarship program

    Prior to enrolling at 肉肉传媒, first-generation student Kamille Suarez-Paulino said there were few people who could offer guidance for her college career. Now a third-year student in The Coca-Cola First Generation and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Scholars program, the economics major wears her first-generation status as a badge of pride. Suarez-Paulino is one of 35 students who have benefited from the program made possible by a $1.25 million donation from The Coca-Cola Foundation.
