At the age of communication, social networking, branding by reviews, and hashtag influences, the risk of the social movement, neighborhood-driven work stops, and construction delay due to unaddressed social concerns is increasing. If proper risk identification and mitigation is not in practice, soon we will see the 鈥渘eighborhood delays鈥� as a modern risk factor to stay. This Special Issue welcomes a) Neighborhood concerns: Crime footprint, social carrying capacity footprint, public goods鈥痜ootprint) General public concerns: Migration footprint, class society footprint, heritage footprint. c) Concerns on the current mechanisms: CSR actions and effectiveness, NGOs鈥� actions and effectiveness, SDG relevant projects.鈥� 

 

This Special Issue on Pandemics, Socially Equitable Economic Advancement, and Resilient and Sustainable Systems includes timely opinion and research related to the COVID-19 pandemic. "This issue addresses educational disparity and aspects of economic vulnerability, highlighting how the pandemic has magnified pre-existing intra- and intercountry inequities. The effects of the pandemic provide an overt understanding of the rational for Sustainable Development Goal 1: No Poverty and increases transparency with respect to preparedness for emerging and predicted climate change related shocks,鈥� notes Madhavi Venkatesan, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of Sustainability and Climate Change.

 

The COVID鈥�19 pandemic has affected intensively on millions of people and communities. The world鈥恠haking communicable coronavirus disease has become a pandemic threat and a challenge to our health and, subsequently, to the built environment, which forced governments to enforce new and innovative commitments to public healthcare. The impacts of COVID鈥�19 on people's health and well鈥恇eing have been investigated and debated by hundreds of researchers worldwide. Governments and authorities have raised a few de鈥恥rbanization solutions to control COVID鈥�19鈥痳isks, such鈥痑s decentralizing services and supplies, isolating communities, and restrictions on social behaviors. However, these solutions are short鈥恡erm treatments, not long鈥恡erm consolidated treatments.鈥�
