Automated External Defibrillators (AED)

The Office of Emergency Management manages the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program at ÈâÈ⴫ý. There are over 200 AEDs located across both campuses. There is, at minimum, one AED per floor per building. Larger buildings, such as ÈâÈ⴫ý Hall, have more than one AED per floor to try and maintain a 3 minute "drop to shock" timeframe for anyone who suffers a sudden cardiac arrest while on campus. OEM also teaches CPR/AED classes to faculty, students, and staff where attendees learn how to perform CPR and how to properly use an AED.
