The Dual Enrollment program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue college and career opportunities, enabling them to obtain recognized certifications or licenses, an associate's or higher degree, and gainful employment. Georgia's exclusive initiative, called Dual Enrollment, caters to eligible students in grades 10-12, who may enroll on a full-time or part-time basis and attend college courses either on a postsecondary campus or at their high school. By participating in approved college courses, students will earn both high school and college credits concurrently upon successful completion.

Funding

The Dual Enrollment program offers numerous benefits to students, such as allowing them to earn college credits while still in high school. However, it's essential to note that there are some limitations to the program. One such limitation is that Dual Enrollment students are typically limited to a total of 30 semester-funded hours.

Joint Enrollment

Joint Enrollment is an alternative program available for high school juniors and seniors who wish to enroll in college-level courses while still enrolled in high school. The program is designed to allow students to earn college credits while they are still in high school, providing them with a head start on their college education. Joint Enrollment students take college-level courses at an accredited college or university, and upon successful completion, they earn college credit that can be transferred to the college of their choice. However, it's essential to note that Joint Enrollment students are responsible for paying tuition, fees, and textbook costs associated with the college-level courses they take.
