CEO - John Longshore

John Longshore is a Senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý State pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He joined SMIF in Fall 2022 as a Junior Analyst and has since been promoted to Senior Analyst (where he was awarded Senior Analyst of the Semester), Managing Director, Vice President of Human Resources, Chief Operating Officer, and now
serves as Chief Executive Officer. John was a part of the 2023 CFA Ethics Challenge Team and part of the winning 2024 CFA Society Southern Classic Research Challenge team. Outside of SMIF, John interns with 28th Street Ventures, a global investment firm in Atlanta. After graduation, John hopes to pursue a career in alternative

CIO - Duc T Nguyen

Duc T Nguyen is currently a Senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý actively pursuing a BBA in Finance. He joined SMIF in January of 2022 as a Junior Analyst, being promoted to Managing Director in August of 2023, then Chief Investment Officer for Fall of 2024. Upon graduation, Duc hopes to pursue a career in investment management in the United States for a number of years before taking up a permanent position in the APEC region. His hobbies include swimming and badminton.

COO - Katty Hernandez

Katty Hernandez is a Senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý, double-majoring in Finance and Accounting. She joined SMIF in Spring 2022 as a Junior Analyst and has since held roles as a Senior Analyst, Associate Director, and Managing Director. As the current Chief Operating Officer, she oversees fund operations and logistics, ensuring that processes and deliverables are handled effectively. Katty competed in the 2022 CFA Ethics Challenge and was a part of the KSU SMIF 2024 CFA Research Challenge team, that won the Southern Classic regional title. Through SMIF, Katty secured internships with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in their Investment Department and with The Coca-Cola Company in the North America FP&A division. Upon graduation, she aims to pursue opportunities focused on valuation analysis, transaction advisory, credit, M&A and possibly consulting. Katty enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the gym, and traveling the world.

CE - Cody Pacheco

Cody Pacheco is a Senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Economics. He has been an active member of SMIF since August 2023. Cody currently serves as the Chief Economist as well as the Managing Director of the Fixed Income sector. For the last three years Cody has worked full time as an analyst for the Moorings Group LLC, who specializes in Fixed Income portfolio management. Upon graduation Cody plans to continue working in Fixed Income. He enjoys reading, following markets and the economy, and playing golf.

HR/Marketing - Hannah Hunt

Hannah is currently a Senior pursuing a BBA in Finance at ÈâÈ⴫ý. She has been an active member of SMIF since January of 2023. Hannah currently serves as Director of Human Resources, VP of Marketing, as well as an Associate Director. She was a part of a Commercial Banking Fellowship Program in Summer of 2023 as well as a Commercial Banking Internship Program in Summer of 2024 at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and plans to return post-graduation as a full-time analyst in the Atlanta office. She enjoys knitting, reading, and thrifting.

Matthew King

Matthew King

Matthew King is Senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý majoring in accounting with a minor in Finance. He joined SMIF in the Spring of 2023. He was recognized as Fall 2023 Senior Analyst of the Semester and is now an Managing Director for Fall of 2024. Matthew currently interns with Alpha Creek Accounting, a regional accounting firm for multi-family housing development. Post-graduation, he aspires to pursue his CPA and career in public auditing.

Noah Criman

Noah is a Senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He joined SMIF in the Spring of 2023 and now assists the fund as a Managing Director. He was a member of the KSU SMIF team in the 2024 CFA Research Challenge, which won the Southern Classic regional title. He is also a member of Cohort 10 in the Coles College Leadership Scholars Program. He enjoys working out, reading, and hiking in his free time.

Matt Brown

Matt Brown is a Senior majoring in Finance and is a Managing Director at KSU SMIF. He is also an asset management intern at Monarch Private Capital. He enjoys researching companies, working out, and spending time with family/friends.

Miguel Rodriguez

Miguel Rodriguez has been with KSU SMIF for 4 semesters. A proud Marine Corps veteran, Miguel served for five years, achieving the rank of sergeant. During his military service, he was a dispatcher responsible for coordinating large convoys to meet the logistical demands of his unit. Through the connections Miguel made while participating in the Student Managed Investment Fund, he secured two internships. His most recent internship was with The Coca-Cola Company on the Customer Agreement team, where he conducted financial analysis for contract renegotiations with various food service customers. During his first internship at Voya Financial, he worked in the Data Integrity group, analyzing fixed income analytics and investigating data-related errors to ensure that portfolio managers had access to reliable data.

In addition to his professional experience, Miguel was a member of the 2024 CFA Research team, which won the Southern Classic. As a senior at ÈâÈ⴫ý, he is set to graduate in December 2024.

Britton Rellinger

Britton is a Junior pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. After switching majors, he joined the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) as a sophomore in the Fall of 2023 and was awarded Junior Analyst of the Semester. In the following semester, he was promoted to Senior Analyst and competed on the 2024 UGA Stock Pitch Competition team. Britton currently interns at Henssler Financial and will serve as an Associate Director in the fall of 2024. In his free time, he enjoys lifting, running, hiking, and traveling.

Kirsten Cowart

Kirsten Cowart is a Junior at ÈâÈ⴫ý pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Economics. She joined the Student Managed Investment Fund in the spring of 2023 as a Junior Analyst where she got to participate in the Quinnipiac Game Forum. In the following semester, fall of 2023, she was promoted to Senior Analyst. In addition to this she was also a member of the 2023 CFA Ethics Challenge Team. Keegan Thottam

Keegan is a Senior at KSU, pursuing a major in Mechatronics Engineering with minors in Finance and Mathematics. He had the pleasure to lead two teams in intercollegiate stock-picking competitions and looks forward to competing again. Keegan completed an internship at Paces Ferry Wealth Advisors as a Finance/Client Services Intern, where he gained valuable experience in asset allocation, portfolio management, and wealth management. He is also continuing his summer internship at Mohawk Industries in Financial Planning & Analysis (FPNA), where he is involved in a capital budgeting project and works on financial KPIs for the manufacturing engineering department, further expanding his knowledge in manufacturing finance and accounting.

Jake Stevens is a Senior finance major. He joined SMIF as a junior analyst in the fall of 2023 and is now an associate director. Jake completed an internship at Wells Fargo as a commercial banking intern and plans to return to the bank upon graduation. In his free time Jake enjoys surfing, playing sports, and spending time outside.

Matt is a Junior and has participated in SMIF since his freshman year (4 semesters). During his time in school Matt has also participated in Honors, Thrive, Undergraduate Research and the Coles Leadership Scholars. Last summer he had an FP&A internship with TK Elevator. After College Matt hopes to get a job in Corporate Finance, Supply Chain Management or Pricing.

Lukas Ollivier

Lukas Ollivier is a Junior at ÈâÈ⴫ý pursuing a BBA in Finance, with a minor in economics. He joined SMIF in August 2023 as a Junior Analyst and was promoted to Senior Analyst in January 2024. Subsequently, Lukas took part in two stock pitch competitions at the University of Georgia and at the University of South Florida, and was recognized as Senior Analyst of the semester in the Spring of 2024. Following this, Lukas accepted an internship position with Paces Ferry Wealth Advisors as a Finance intern. He is now an Associate Director at the SMIF for the Fall 2024 semester. During his free time, Lukas enjoys sports, hanging out with friends, good music, and cooking.

Alex Lamarca

Alex Lamarca

Alex Lamarca is a senior finance student at ÈâÈ⴫ý. He joined the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) in the Spring of 2023 as a Junior Analyst and now serves as an Associate Director. Additionally, Alex was part of the CFA Ethics team in the Fall of 2023 and competed in a stock pitch competition at the University of Georgia in the Spring of 2024. Over the past Summer, he interned at Smurfit Westrock, a fortune 200 company and the largest paper and packaging solutions corporation worldwide. Before his involvement with SMIF, Alex played NCAA D1 golf and professionally on the mini-tour circuit. He also has four citizenships, from Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, and the United States. In his free time, he continues to play golf at a high level and is an avid Judo practitioner.
