Internships, Assistantships, and Fellowships

The lab houses interns, assistants, and fellows. Interns work on projects within the lab. These projects can range from ongoing work within the lab to specific projects brought by the intern. High School students are eligible for internships. Assistants maintain the lab capabilities and technologies while also facilitating the use of the technologies and developing future technologies. Assistantships are open to undergraduate and graduate students. Fellows conduct research projects and may bring a team with them.  Fellowships are open to faculty and staff members and other community leaders external to KSU.

In all cases, our interns, assistants, and fellows can participate in research and are expected to complete  plus any other appropriate modules.

If you are interested in joining us in one of these roles, please email Prof. Thomas below.

3D Technology Workshops (for staff, faculty, high school field trips, student groups, etc.)

The lab hosts development workshops forcused on emerging technologies. The most popular one lasts one hour and teaches a group with no prior experience how to design and print a 3D object from scratch. They actually run through the process and print a keychain. Contact us to develop your program. Internal groups at KSU need only pay for materials and can use a speed chart. The longer version of this workshop takes 2 hours and includes a mixer activity focused on understanding the power of the visual cortex as well as a VR exeperience and more in-depth presentation about emerging 3D technologies.
