Computing Capstone projects give industry partners the opportunity to engage with
students, by either bringing their own real-world challenge and allowing students to develop an innovative proof-of-concept (POC) solution, or
by mentoring students on an existing capstone project, providing industry insights and guidance.
These projects are completed over one semester during the students' final year, with teams of 4-5 students dedicating approximately 400 total man-hours to solving the problem.
As a project owner or mentor, you鈥檒l play a key role in shaping the students' experience by defining the problem statement, offering business context, or providing technical guidance. These collaborations culminate in a final presentation at our bi-annual Computing Showcase (C-Day), where industry partners can see the results firsthand and recognize student contributions.
C-Day Capstone Proposal
Industry partners in Data Science and Analytics capstones bring both a real-world problem and relevant datasets, allowing students to apply advanced data analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques
to uncover insights and develop data-driven solutions. These semester-long projects
provide partners with fresh perspectives on complex data challenges while giving students
hands-on experience with real industry applications.
