Social Entrepreneurship Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship will help you learn about and practice social entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and innovation to address complex societal, health, or environmental issues. As a social entrepreneur, intrapreneur, or innovator, you can create a better society while also ensuring the financial viability of your efforts. Not only will you focus on the triple bottom line, but also may break down traditional barriers between business, government, and nonprofits. This interdisciplinary certificate invites you to learn the basic principles, skills, and theories of social entrepreneurship, along with strategies for designing and launching new ventures.

You can utilize three (3) credit hours from your academic field of study or an approved elective to enrich this interdisciplinary experience. In your coursework, you will develop impactful social enterprise ideas, leverage innovation and design thinking to evaluate a solutions social value and market potential, and use social innovation tools and frameworks to test social enterprise business and financial structures. Upon completion, you will be able to harness the skills and perspectives gained from the coursework to advance in your chosen careers.

Admissions Requirements

Online Graduate Application – There is a non-refundable $60 application processing fee.

Transcripts – Official transcripts from EACH college and/or university you have attended. Must be in a sealed envelope from the institution or sent electronically to the Graduate College (ksugrad@kennesaw.edu).

Grade Point Average (GPA) - Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, or a graduate transcript with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Letter of Intent (uploaded through the online application portal): An application letter that states the applicant’s interest in the Certificate.
