The 2021 Steinway Spectacular: An Encore

Extravaganza highlights KSU's Steinway pianos, faculty

⴫ý's Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music, an All-Steinway School, will host an encore of the 2019 Steinway Spectacular on Friday, March 19 at 8 p.m. This year’s performance is open to the public and may be live streamed for free with only a simple . 

The Steinway Spectacular is an annual extravaganza that highlights the Bailey School of Music’s fleet of Steinway pianos and talented piano faculty. Patrons may also enjoy performances by guest artists David Coucheron, violinist and Concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Indra Thomas, soprano and Metropolitan Opera star.  

KSU students and pre-college students as young as six years old will also grace the Morgan Hall stage, proving that there is no age restriction on talent! The youngest performer in the Steinway Spectacular is Dr. ’s son, Lucas Henry.

Henry, International Steinway Artist and director of Piano Studies at KSU, said “I cherished performing with my son, Lucas, for the first time. The annual Steinway Spectacular is a wonderful opportunity for our students, faculty, and guest artists to perform together in celebration of the grandest of all instruments — the Steinway piano! Piano-lovers everywhere can look forward to these concerts at KSU for years to come.” 

Although this year’s Steinway Spectacular is a rebroadcast of the 2019 show, the concert will still delight patrons with a wide range of musical selections—including traditional favorites from Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin and recent works from KSU piano faculty member

Unlike the 2019 Steinway Spectacular that was presented at the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center in front of a live audience, the 2021 concert will be presented virtually which will allow patrons across the country to enjoy this dynamic performance from the comfort and safety of home.
