The College of the Arts at 肉肉传媒 will start the year off right with numerous ArtsKSU events, from innovative dance choreography to classical musical performances and engaging live theatre, and with inspirational art exhibitions. 

Artwork from students in the School of Art and Design will be on display in the Zuckerman Museum of Art鈥檚 New Visions Annual Juried Student Exhibition, juried by Ben Butler. Patrons are invited to attend the free opening reception Jan. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m.; the exhibition runs Jan. 17-Feb. 25 in the Fine Arts Gallery.

The Department of Dance welcomes New York-based company Boca Tuya and its production of 鈥溾 for two nights, Jan. 27-28 at 8 p.m. in the KSU Dance Theater on the Marietta campus. Enjoy an evening of dance by acclaimed choreographer Omar Rom谩n de Jes煤s, who recently served as an artist in residency for KSU Dance. 鈥淎mor鈥 features breathtaking movement vocabulary, drama, fantastic, and humor. Elements of this work are derived from a long lineage of events and practices that derived from personal and collective experiences.

The Bailey School of Music at KSU will welcome on Feb. 3. One of classical music鈥檚 most recognizable and brilliantly multifaceted figures, McGill serves as the principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic 鈥 that orchestra鈥檚 first African American principal player 鈥 and maintains a dynamic international solo and chamber music career. Recognized for its virtuosity, exuberant performance style, and often daring repertory choices, the Pacifica Quartet has achieved international recognition as one of the finest chamber ensembles performing today.

Internationally, the world is increasingly virtual. How does one traverse the devastating gap between a longing for love and an addictive need for information? Find out when the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies presents Caryl Churchill鈥檚 鈥溾 Feb. 21-26 at the Onyx Theater. In this fascinating kaleidoscope of 57 short plays, more than 100 characters try to find true human connection鈥攁nd make sense of what they know and don鈥檛 know.
